Ask A Snowmama: Toddler Fun in Park City
We are coming to Park City and are bringing my 20-month-old daughter. What sorts of activities would be good for a young toddler? Is she old enough for skis of some sort? Any other recommendations? Thanks so much!

Thank you for submitting your question to "Ask A Snowmama"!
Our family has traveled from the East coast for 17 years now, probably about 13 of those years spent with a toddler in tow!
Unfortunately, most 2 year olds are not quite ready for ski lessons. At 20 months, many are still taking the big afternoon nap and not potty trained yet. Most kids are ready for ski school around the age of 3, however it depends on the nature and development of your child. They are, however, at a perfect age to play in the snow, do a little sledding, and enjoy the outdoors.
Our family usually hired a babysitter so that we could ski, and took turns on days in between doing other "toddler" friendly activities around town. We loved having a babysitter come to the room because not only did we not have to pack them up, we could provide their favorite foods and they could nap in the quiet of the condo. Our favorite sitters that we have used for the last 15 years are Guardian Angel Babysitting Services.
Snowmama Kelly has offered up some toddler and kid friendly fun here, and additional childcare options here. There is also a new place in town that I have yet to check out, but looks perfect for that age called Pretend Park City. It is a creative playspace for ages 0-6 and includes an art room, market and kitchen, pretend areas, baby room and more. For some fun in the snow, try Fort Frosty at Gorgoza Tubing Park. It's just right for that age!
If your hotel or condo has a pool, my little ones always loved to swim, even as babies. They also love playing in the snow for a bit, and warming up next to all of the fire pits in town. The restaurants in Park City are not only wonderful, most are very family -riendly as well.
I hope this helps, and please don't hesitate to let us know if you need anything else or have questions. We're here to help!
Have a great trip!
