ASK A SNOWMAMA: My Family is a Beginner Ski Family and We've Never Been to Park City. Where Do You Recommend We Stay and What Should We Do?

QUESTION: Hi, My husband and 2 boys (14 and 12) are looking to ski in March. We have all skied before (except my 12 year old), but are still "beginners." We would like advice on where to stay as we have never been to Park City. It has been a while since we went on vacation, so we are not looking to "rough" it; however, we do not want to break the bank either. I would like to be close to the slopes and ski school (some of us ski more than others, so easy access to our lodging would be great) and have a washer and dryer. Where do you recommend?

ANSWER: Park City is the perfect place for your family to take their ski vacation. Not only is it easy to get to from the Salt Lake International Airport, but the town of Park City has just as many off-mountain activities as it does on. As for lodging, I would recommend the same lodging options that I answered to John.

If your dates in March are flexible, Park City Mountain Resort has a great lodging package called the Family Value Package that could save you up to $698 on lodging and lift tickets. I would definitely check it out.

Park City Mountain Resort's ski and snowboard schools is one of the best. Your boys will love the Kids Signature 5 Program that guarantees small class sizes so they'll be paired with kids of similiar age and ability levels. In fact, Park City Mountain Resort guarantees five participants or fewer in all of their group lessons so even you and your husband can take lessons in a small group too! I would advise you to make reservations, especially for the Kids Signature Program. Let me know if you want any additional recommendations. I look forward to meeting you and your family in March!

Hey, don't forget about the Silver King Hotel (actually condos), just across the parking lot from the First Time Lift at Park City Mtn. Resort! It's a great place to stay with a nice indoor/outdoor pool and hot tub, and some of the rooms have their own hot tubs, too. Give it a shot!
