Where Did I Go Today?
I’m always looking for fun things to keep my kids occupied on trips. This year, during our latest trip to Park City Mountain Resort, my kids came up with a great activity:
At the end of each day, the ski school instructor hands out a report card. It contains information about how the child did, the types of skills they worked on and, what I thought was really cool, including the ski lifts and trails they had skied that day.
When we got back to the condo, the kids loved showing me their favorite runs, the slowest and highest lifts and all the places they wanted us to ski the next day. It spurred great conversations around things they saw, the best thing about their day and what they learned.
To make it more special, when we got home, I laminated each map and put it in a frame with a picture from the trip.
The kids are already asking when they can go back to ski more of the mountain to fill out their map. And until then, they have a fun way to remember!
- One trail map her child
- A permanent marker or dark pen
- The report card from ski school or the list of trails skied or a really good memory
