Marriott's Mountainside : Ski In/Ski Out at Park City
On my family's last trip to Park City we stayed at Mariott's Mountainside, here's an overview of the hotel:
Location, Location, Location
Marriott's Mountainside is comfortable, clean and affordable with plenty of amenities, but its best feature is its location. Just steps away from Park City Mountain Resort (PCMR) base, 9:00 a.m. lessons don’t seem so early, and taking the kids in for a quick change or short nap is so convenient. There are several restaurants and gear stores right outside your door. The Park City bus system stops at PCMR's base, so you can quickly catch a shuttle for a trip shopping or for dinner on Main Street.
The villas are available in one and two-bedroom options with a kitchen, dining room, living room with pull out sofa, shower, separate soaking tub and washer/dryer. Rollaways are not available at the Mariott Mountainside, so make sure that your accommodations include enough beds for everyone in your family. We stayed in a one-bedroom villa with full kitchen, dining area and a partial view of the mountain. Consider a two-bedroom villa or adjoining rooms for more sleeping space. Ask for a room with a view if available, you will love being greeted by the mountain every morning.
Take a dip in the outdoor pool or relax and enjoy the mountain view from one of the six spas. The spas are arranged for privacy, situated at differing heights and surrounded by rock landscaping and small waterfalls. It’s a great way to end the day.
Organized activities aside from skiing are available for all ages. A week or two before your trip contact Mariott's Mountainside for a schedule of planned events, reservations are required. During our trip there were activities like snowshoe hikes, fitness classes, snowmobile tours, movies, craft projects, games, story times, live music, wine tasting and more planned throughout the day and evening. There is also a MAZE Kid's Club with supervised, age-appropriate crafts and activities. This is not day care, you must be at the hotel for your child to participate. During summer months there is a teen zone called the Blast Shaft with video games and lounge chairs. Call the concierge for additional activity ideas.
Other complimentary amenities include a 24-hour fitness center, activity center, garage parking, wireless, DVD library, and ski valet.
So, bottom line, would we stay there again? Definitely.
The location was unbeatable, the staff friendly and accommodating, the price reasonable. Next time we will opt for a two-bedroom suite or adjoining room for more sleeping space, but overall it was a great experience.
