Everyone’s definition of affordable varies and this post covers just that, from luxury to economy. I broke the options out into the following categories so that everyone can find something that is within their budget.

We have a family of 5 (4 adults & 1 child) and are looking to fly into SLC DEC. 22nd for a 1 or 2 night stay and ski one day before heading up to SUn Valley to visit family for Christmas. Any ideas on where to stay and what a 1-day ski lift ticket would be?

A great way for a family to save money, have more space than a hotel room, and enjoy the amenities of home, is to rent a condo. A less expensive way is to go through the owner of the condo. Do be sure to note details in the photos on the sites, though. If simple and inexpensive "accessories" are dated, and furnishings look like they are "30 years old", the price may be low but you will be unhappy. Look for condos that show that the owner has put time and money into it for a more comfortable place to stay. Further, make sure a professional cleaning service is hired to prep the property. And, still further, ask if there is a local contact in case of emergencies.

Do you know if they run a shuttle from the Hapton Inn to the town lift?

Hi Kevin,

The Hampton Inn itself doesn't have a shuttle, but the free city-wide bus system stops right at the curb outside the hotel and has service to Park City Mountain Resort as well as Main Street transfer station. It's about a 2 block walk tfrom the transfer station to town Lift or you can catch the Main Street trolley at the transfer station and they will drop you off right in front of the Town Lift.

Thanks for the rundown! We've loved staying at the Marriott Mountainside and Marriott Summit Watch. The location can't be beat, lots of space, and the full kitchen and washer/dryer are must haves for our family ski vacation!
