Three Family-friendly Park City Lodging Options

The Convenient

If you want to feel the pulse of Park City, the Town Lift Condominiums are for you. Located on Historic Main Street and steps away from the Town Lift Chair (that whisks you up to Park City Mountain Resort), these condos offer you the best of both worlds.

Town Lift condos are dear to my family’s heart: When we first stayed in Park City, we got locked out on the deck in our Town Lift condo’s hot tub.

Another story, another day.

The condos are the perfect size for our family of four. There are ten 2 bedroom/2 bath condos with luxuriously designed interiors that may include custom built-in boot & mitten warmers, recessed in-wall HDTVs with theatre audio, a fully-equipped gourmet kitchen and panoramic bay window views overlooking historic Park City Main. Suffice it to say, Town Lift has all the conveniences of home.

But is so much better.

The Family-Friendly

If location is a factor there is no better lodging than the Marriott Mountainside, which is located, mountainside.

Talk about great nomenclature.

While I was underwhelmed by our 1-bedroom room (I had a queen-sized bed & the kids slept on the pullout sofa, which made for a tight squeeze), the amenities more than made up for it.

In addition to being able to ski-in ski-out, the Marriott Mountain has a great fitness center, an outdoor pool and multiple whirlpool spas with waterfalls that seemed to mysteriously spill out of the boulders.

My kids loved the video arcade and children’s activity center that schedules crafts and outings all day long. But the intimidating life-sized chess and checkers game?

My son Bode says he'll stick with the Wii and XBox in the game room.

The Luxurious

Hands down, Silver Star at Park City is the most luxurious place we’ve stayed. Ever. In fact, our condo raised the bar so high that my children compare all other lodging properties to it.

Silver Star is a collection of ski-in/ski-out cottages, condos and town homes located at the base of Park City Mountain Resort (serviced in the winter by the Silver Star chairlift). There is a quaint, private village that offers guests a place to eat, rent skis, snowboards or bikes, or just hang out après-ski.

Our condo was the true highlight. The three-bedroom residence was 1,500 square feet and boasted amenities such as a gourmet kitchen, granite counter tops, ceramic tile, wood, stone and carpet flooring, a private  hot tub and a large master bathroom with double vanity and jetted soaking tub and separate shower.

My kids fell in love with the two bunk beds in their room,  perfect for large families. My 3-year-old son is notoriously cautious and I was shocked that both he and his sister opted for the top bunks.

I will always remember Silver Star as the place as where mamas are pampered and where baby boys become men.
